What a treat it was to be asked by the lovely lot at London School of Barbering to collaborate on a photoshoot featuring their super cool hair styles and our floral bow-ties.. a match made in heaven!
For those of you who don’t know LSB are an epic London institution who nurture and develop the up and coming barbers and hair designers of the day and teach them everything they need to know to make the most of their talents. It’s great to see a revival of the barber shop presence in the high-street and it seems men of all ages now appreciate its true authenticity, it’s no longer just for older gents, everyone has a beard or hair style to take care of and old fashioned styling is back.
We were thrilled with the attention to detail the LSB team put into this shoot and it was great to have Dancys bow-ties photographed in and around central London where the different LSB premises are based, London was where Dancys originated so it felt good to see our products back on home ground. These photos definitely get across the individual dapper vibe of a London gent.
The styling of the shoot was perfect, crisp shirts and minimal accessories let our bold floral prints speak for themselves, though a pattern clash shirt/bow-tie combination was a delicious choice, something we often do ourselves! The hair styles had clearly been carefully thought out and meticulously finished, each one was modern and unique, our favourite was a 1950s quiff with sweep back sides, a contemporary twist on a classic style which matched the retro car they used in the shoot!
It’s a cool idea that LSB choose different independent brands to work with that they feel compliment their image and identity, for it keeps things fresh and interesting whilst showing off their creative talents at their best. We love to support other areas of ‘craftsmanship’ which barbering is without doubt and we love the ethos this company embodies. We hope they’ll have us back someday!
