At the end of September we had the great privilege of being part of the yearly Best of Britannia event in Bloomsbury square London. BOB is an exhibition set up purely to champion British brands and British industries, the event had a real mix of traditional heritage and classic British style as well as a modern edge – cool venue, new brands and a fantastic atmosphere. As an exhibitor ourselves it was a brilliant opportunity to meet other British brands and hear their stories as well as share our mutual love and appreciation for British manufacture; it is the best! The event ran for 3 days and was open to buyers, press, wholesale and the public so there was a real variety of people to see and introduce to Dancys. It was a pleasure to meet menswear brands like Lancashire Pike, Jollie Socks, Cheaney shoes, Oldfield Clothing and Walker Slater. We even had a visit from Grey Fox blog (he loves a floral pocket square!).

We had a large space in which we set up some shelving units to display stock alongside props, we also put up some large pictures of models wearing Dancys ties plus we created a wall titled ‘the journey of our products’ to show the process it takes from our design to sourcing materials to having products made at our manufacturers in Kent. The highlight of our space though was the video installation we created which ran on a continuous loop in the centre of our space, it included both imagery and wording as well as some actual footage of models in our accessories. It was to help tell the story of who we are and where Dancys has come from, the response we got to it was really positive! We may be a small Norfolk brand but we have lots of ideas we wanted to show. It was nice to make some contacts and get some feedback on our products, we even had some orders over that weekend too-a lovely surprise!

It was a nice change to spend some time in London and to meet so many other creative people and discover new and exciting British brands, we can’t wait for the next one!
