From the beginning we knew we wanted to keep an authentic Britishness to both our design and manufacture. Not only because our ties, bow ties and pocket squares are traditionally associated with gentlemen and being dapper, and is therefore very ‘British’, but also because we felt it was important as a new company to support British industries and that it was something our customer would value and appreciate (as we do!).

Our fabrics were purchased from fabric shops in London and wholesalers around the UK, our labels were produced in England, our packaging will only be from the UK too and of course there’s our manufacturers…

After much searching and emailing we finally found a lovely English manufacturer who we liked from the word go, they invited us over to meet them and have a cup of tea! We met the owners and the small team, had a tour of the premises and got to see where our stock would be made, by who and how it would be packaged. It was a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon, they even picked us up from the station and dropped us back again!

That meeting added something much more personal to our experience and we have since received a lot of good opinions and advice. Of course it costs more to produce in the UK but the sight of the ‘Made In England’ labels in our stock more than makes up for it. As people keep telling us – how often do you see that these days?
